SagacityMoneyyasutta
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
“Mendicants, there are these three kinds of sagacity.“Tīṇimāni, bhikkhave, moneyyāni. What three?Katamāni tīṇi? Sagacity of body, speech, and mind.Kāyamoneyyaṁ, vacīmoneyyaṁ, manomoneyyaṁ— These are the three kinds of sagacity.”imāni kho, bhikkhave, tīṇi moneyyānī”ti.
The Buddha spoke this matter.Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. On this it is said:Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
“A sage in body, a sage in speech,“Kāyamuniṁ vacīmuniṁ, a sage undefiled in mind;manomunimanāsavaṁ; a sage, blessed with sagacity,Muniṁ moneyyasampannaṁ, has washed off all bad things, they say.”āhu ninhātapāpakan”ti.
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
