It’s when a mendicant develops the basis of psychic power that has immersion due to enthusiasm …Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu chandasamādhippadhānasaṅkhārasamannāgataṁ iddhipādaṁ bhāveti, energy …vīriyasamādhi …pe… mental development …cittasamādhi … inquiry, and active effort.vīmaṁsāsamādhippadhānasaṅkhārasamannāgataṁ iddhipādaṁ bhāveti— These are the four bases of psychic power.ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro iddhipādā. Because of developing and cultivating these four bases of psychic power, one of two results can be expected:Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, catunnaṁ iddhipādānaṁ bhāvitattā bahulīkatattā bhikkhunā dvinnaṁ phalānaṁ aññataraṁ phalaṁ pāṭikaṅkhaṁ— enlightenment in this very life, or if there’s residue left behind, non-return.”diṭṭheva dhamme aññā, sati vā upādisese anāgāmitā”ti.
