If you wish to live in happiness,“Sukhañce jīvituṁ icche, longing for the ascetic life,sāmaññasmiṁ apekkhavā; don’t look down on the Saṅgha’s robes,Saṅghikaṁ nātimaññeyya, or its food and drinks.cīvaraṁ pānabhojanaṁ.

If you wish to live in happiness,Sukhañce jīvituṁ icche, longing for the ascetic life,sāmaññasmiṁ apekkhavā; stay in the Saṅgha’s lodgingsAhi mūsikasobbhaṁva, like a snake making use of a mouse’s hole.sevetha sayanāsanaṁ.

If you wish to live in happiness,Sukhañce jīvituṁ icche, longing for the ascetic life,sāmaññasmiṁ apekkhavā; develop this one quality:Itarītarena tusseyya, be content with whatever is offered.ekadhammañca bhāvaye”ti.
